Your choice of Reiki Master/Teacher is important to you. The aim of this page is to tell you something about myself and my own path to and through Reiki.

I first discovered Reiki when a good friend of mine told me of a Reiki healing received by her daughter for a broken ankle - she danced her way to the top of a Championship the following day. My friend gave me a phone number and some information from the Reiki Practitioner which I put away. The following year one of my sisters returned from travelling in India having received her Reiki attunements there. Her energy was amazing. I learned that Reiki does not require any prior knowledge, or skills, or experience. All it requires is practice. When she set off on her next adventure she left behind a book called Abundance Through Reiki. I took it home, savoured the pages and promised myself to find a Master who could teach me the practice of Reiki.

Looking through old papers I found the number of the Reiki Practitioner that my friend had given me over a year before. I called her and she gave me another number which led me to find my Reiki I Master/Teacher. I was attuned in June 2001 and it was the most beautiful time for me. I felt like I was more in tune and peaceful inside, I became hugely grateful for the abundance that surrounds me every day. I'd been through a pretty tough time over the preceding few years and welcomed this gift of complete inner calmness.

I was really keen to progress along my Reiki path and waited until November 2001 to receive Level 2 Attunements. In retrospect perhaps I should have waited longer. Reiki 1 tends to focus on healing at a physical level while Reiki 2 goes further into healing at an emotional level - casting up and out all that unnecessary baggage that we tend to carry round with us. The thing was I had plenty of baggage waiting to be cast! For me Level 2 felt like I was the jigsaw and someone had just tossed all the pieces into the air! In the following eighteen months all the jigsaw pieces settled down again - they fitted perfectly back together but the picture now formed was completely different - and it was a prettier one at that! Reiki 2 for me was a rough ride but it was worth it.

I received my Master attunement in May 2003 and have been teacher trained since June 2003. I love teaching Reiki and I have known from the beginning of my journey with Reiki that teach it I would. My journey continues as Reiki weaves its way into every nook and cranny of my life, shining its light in any little dark corners. And while there is so much to be learned, I remain the eternal student...

This is my experience. Everyone's is different. And so you will feel Reiki in a way that is unique to you and yours...always for the highest good and always everything treated in the right order.
